So here are a few TIPS that may lessen the stress;
  • Be realistic, you may not get everything you want. After all you didn’t build the place.
  • Have a clear distinction between what you need and what you want in an apartment. Your needs may include: price, bedrooms, size, convenience etc. Where as you may want a furnished apartment with a flat screen TV. REMEMBER ONLY YOU CAN KNOW YOUR NEEDS AND WANTS.   • When you meet with a potential landlord, walk around, ask questions about the place, the neighborhood etc.Always walk with deposit money, just in case you find that right place. However, do not be impulsive; only use that money if you’re 100% certain that you have found the right place.
  • Take time to read and understand the contract/lease agreement. Ask the landlord questions about anything you do not understand. It is a wise idea to consult with a lawyer. DO NOT SIGN ANY AGREEMENT UNLESS YOU UNDERSTAND AND AGREE TO ALL THE TERMS.
  • BE PATIENT. Finding a place to live is a very important decision which should never be rushes. Remember your safety, privacy, peace of mind and your way of life depends on that decision.
